Our History
It began with one prayer
March 2014 — Chisinau, Moldova
Joe Savage and a team of college students were visiting the largest orphanage in Moldova when tears filled Joe's eyes. As he looked into the faces of the 14 and 15-year-old girls who would soon be vulnerable to sex trafficking, he knew he had to do something. Surrounded by 440 orphans, Joe and his friend, Jeff Copeland, prayed for a way to help. Joe committed to stepping in if God would provide a house, house parents, and girls needing safety. After only three days of prayer and visits to other orphanages, God provided Joe with a house, house parents, and three at-risk orphaned girls.
During the next year, more girls arrived seeking safety and refuge at the house. Joe gathered money from friends and sent it to Moldova to support them. As more and more aged-out orphans unexpectedly arrived at the home, he continued to raise and send financial support while visiting the home a few times each year.

What began with one prayer became Roads of Hope — a lifeline for girls who had nowhere else to go.

From a single unfinished home in 2014 sheltering three orphaned girls, Roads of Hope has grown into a network of safe, faith-filled homes across Moldova. Today, more than 1,000 children have found safety, love, and a better life through our programs.
