At age 15, most children are forced to leave their orphanages with little money, no guidance, and no family to provide help.
60% of orphaned girls are sex trafficked after leaving the orphanages and 20% of boys are labor trafficked.
Death comes early for 48% of orphaned boys and girls, dying before their 21st birthday.
Children accounted for 40% of those trafficked in Moldova in 2017.
When a professor and a pastor looked into the eyes of the 15-year-old girls living at an orphanage in Moldova who were soon to be trafficked, sold, and enslaved, they knew they had to do something. Feeling helpless, the two friends prayed asking God what they could do. This short prayer, in March 2014, led to the founding of Roads of Hope and a partnership with Emmanuel House. The home started with three orphaned girls who were homeless, heartbroken, and impoverished. Soon, orphaned girls were coming to “EHouse” from all parts of Moldova.
Today, we work in several nations caring and helping orphans in need. We have amazing partners in those nations and a system in place that makes it easy for compassionate people in America and around the world to directly help. Rescue & Protect children in danger
We are finding and rescuing orphans and at-risk children/teens who are in great danger and desperately need help due to poverty, abuse, crisis, or homelessness. Working with local partners and government agencies, we provide the children/teens with safe places to live where they are protected from evil traffickers and any others who might want to cause harm.
Provide safe homes & caring families
We are providing safe homes across Eastern Europe where rescued orphans and endangered children/teens are living and being cared for in family-type homes. In these homes, the children/teens become part of families where they are loved and given personal attention by trained house parents while having their needs met daily.
Connect good people with orphans needing help
We are making it possible for every adult, teenager, and child to actively participate in the fight against human trafficking. Orphans need help and their lives become better when good people choose to help. We offer individuals, groups, churches, businesses, universities, and others with opportunities to support, visit, host, advocate, and more.

MOLDOVA
The large majority of our work is in this small impoverished nation in Eastern Europe, that has been one of the largest hubs for human trafficking in the world for decades.
ROMANIA
A beautiful nation that is progressing forward economically, but still has its share of problems, particularly in the area of human trafficking.Â
UKRAINE
The large country has been plagued by corruption, poverty, disaster (think Chernobyl), several revolutions, and a war with Russia that won’t seem to stop. These events have shaped Ukraine into one of the world’s worst nations for human trafficking and orphan endangerment.
UNDISCLOSED LOCATIONS
We go wherever we are needed and to wherever we are called. Sometimes we can share those locations, and sometimes they are better left in the shadows of the unknown.Â
UNITED STATES
The primary source of funds, volunteers, host families, and other support for ROH. America a has also emerged as one of the largest consumers of child pornography and child enslavement in the world, with an overwhelming majority of victims coming out of American foster systems.

We provide wood and coal to keep orphan homes warm in the freezing winters. We also provide shoes, coats, socks, and other winter wear.Â

Christmas is a big time for both us and the kids as we deliver gifts, food, and celebrate the birth of Jesus together as a family.Â

We make sure all of our kids attend school and have the supplies they need. We also assist our older kids with scholarships for college.Â

As medical concerns arise, we try to assist. We want all of the kids to be as healthy as possible.

These words describe us well. Roads of Hope isn’t a program, institution, or big structured organization. We don’t have a fancy office, large staff, new computers, a bunch of equipment, or a bunch of money in the bank. We don’t operate on theory or spend much time studying the newest trends or fads in orphan care and human trafficking. Those are fine for others, but for us, we do things simple. We do the things that work – for us and more so, the kids we serve. We use common sense. When we started in 2014, we started off simple. Because we didn’t have much, we did what we could and we trusted God to take care of what we couldn’t. This is how we still operate today. Simple seems to work.
When an orphan needs help, we help them. When an orphan needs rescuing, we rescue them. My simple aim in life is to love God as I should, and to love all people in a big way, especially children who have been orphaned, abandoned, and forgotten. Every child deserves to be loved. This is what we do.Â
