About Roads of
Hope
Cheryl is
the National Coordinator for Roads of Hope, here she tells
her story:
"My love for animals
started when I was a young girl I would bring any stray
animal home (or any animal I thought was a stray). When I
was 31 years old I was going through a divorce and went to
the Humane Society and adopted a 12 year old cat. I was told
he wasn't adopted, because nobody wanted an animal that was
old and going to die soon. "Tigger" stayed with me 3 1/2
years when he crossed over the Rainbows bridge part of my
heart went with him and I turned to Pet Loss sites and
eventually Yahoo Pet boards. It was on one of these boards
that someone emailed me and said I should join in Online
rescue crossposting to help animals in shelters get out and
get safe. I did and noticed the extraordinary need for
Transport Coordinators and so I found a Mentor and the rest
is as they say history. I've been a Transport Coordinator
for 5 years. I am one of a handful that coordinate
transports across country throughout the U.S. " |
